Proposal summary

Germany is currently turning back people seeking protection at its borders, including families and particularly vulnerable people. In the applicants’ view, this violates European law and the right to asylum. The border checks also place heavy strain on the Federal Police: experts estimate the current workload can be sustained for only 3 to 4 weeks. There is also economic damage, because each hour of waiting costs around 100 euros per truck. The demand is: stop refusals immediately, lift border checks, and instead focus on European cooperation.
