Proposal summary
Due to the war against Iran, fuel prices have risen sharply. Oil companies are using the situation to increase their profits disproportionately. The motion calls for a windfall profits tax on energy companies, direct payments of 150 euros to all people living in Germany, and cheaper local public transport tickets and a lower electricity tax. In addition, a speed limit of 120 km/h on motorways and a ban on certain short-haul flights are intended to save fuel.
