Proposal summary
Fuel suppliers in Germany will in future have to sell more climate-friendly fuels. The obligation to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of fuels is extended until 2040 and will gradually rise to 59 percent. Fuels made from palm oil can no longer be counted, and producers must allow on-site government inspections. The aim is to help Germany meet its transport climate targets.
