Proposal summary

Germany should meet its climate targets by 2045 and implement the necessary measures quickly. At EU level, existing rules such as the ban on new internal combustion engines from 2035 and the European emissions trading system for buildings and transport (ETS2) should be maintained. Funding should be targeted to households on low and middle incomes, for example for renovating buildings or affordable electric cars. At the UN climate conference COP30, Germany should advocate internationally for effective climate action.
