Proposal summary
Doctors, dentists, pharmacists, and midwives who trained abroad should be able to obtain a professional permit in Germany faster and more easily. Until now, they had to submit extensive documents so their qualification could be checked for equivalence with the German one. In future, they can take a knowledge test directly without this paperwork. This is intended to counter the shortage of skilled workers in healthcare while still ensuring patient protection.
