Review procedures for licensing doctors from third countries

Proposal summary
Germany’s healthcare system lacks skilled workers, and this shortage is expected to worsen in the coming years. Doctors, dentists, pharmacists, and midwives from countries outside the EU should in future be able to have their foreign qualifications recognized more quickly and with less bureaucracy. Instead of complex document reviews, a direct Kenntnisprüfung will become the standard. This saves those affected an average of 3,000 euros in costs and substantial effort in obtaining documents.
