Bill on the Friendship and Cooperation Treaty with the United Kingdom

Germany and the United Kingdom signed a Friendship and Cooperation Treaty on 17 July 2025. The treaty sets the framework for cooperation between the two countries in many areas, including foreign policy, defense, the economy, science, climate action, and culture. Both states commit to support each other in the event of an armed attack, including with military means. The Bundestag must approve the treaty for it to be legally valid in Germany.
