Amendment to the Aviation Security Act

The law changes rules on security around airports and in airspace. In future, the Bundeswehr may use weapons and other means against dangerous drone flights over critical facilities. Anyone who deliberately enters the runway area or other secured areas of an airport without authorization and thereby endangers flight safety now commits a criminal offence and can be punished with up to two years’ imprisonment. Decision-making procedures for Bundeswehr deployments are also simplified, and some rules on fees and security checks are clarified.
