Proposal summary

In the future, anyone carrying out a federal contract must pay employees at least the wages and working conditions set out in a collective agreement for the relevant sector. This is intended to prevent companies that do not apply a collective agreement from gaining an advantage in competition for public contracts by paying lower wages. The law applies to federal contracts with a value of 50,000 euros or more and will be monitored by a new review office at Deutsche Rentenversicherung Knappschaft-Bahn-See.
