Keep election promises, repeal the Heating Act

The Heating Act (Buildings Energy Act, GEG) requires new heating systems to obtain at least 65 percent of their energy from renewable sources. In practice, this means a broad ban on new oil and gas heating systems. The tighter rules that have applied since January 2024 are to be fully reversed. The aim is to keep housing affordable and to return owners’ freedom to choose their heating system.
