Proposal summary
Farmers in Germany are spending more and more time on paperwork and reporting duties instead of running their farms. According to the Federal Statistical Office, these bureaucratic obligations cost agriculture more than 620 million euros per year. The motion calls for no new rules to be introduced as long as existing ones have not been reduced, and for existing requirements to be cut back to the legally necessary minimum. It also says digital control systems that create additional work should be simplified or abolished.
