Proposal summary
Germany’s Europol Act is being updated to match a new EU regulation that has been in force since June 2022. In future, more German authorities, including customs authorities and the Financial Control of Undeclared Work, will be allowed to transmit data to Europol via the Federal Criminal Police Office and access information there. Data can also be shared for ongoing criminal investigations and public wanted notices. There are no new obligations for members of the public or for businesses.
