Exempt the Bundesrechnungshof from across-the-board staff cuts in the 2026 federal budget

The Bundesrechnungshof is to be exempt from a planned across-the-board staff cut. The authority independently reviews whether the state spends its money properly. Since 2014, it has already cut more than 250 positions and given up 40 percent of its office space. Further cuts would endanger its work, especially now that the state is investing large sums in infrastructure and defense.
