Proposal summary

The federal government sets its budget plan for 2026. Revenues and expenditures are set at a total of 520.5 billion euros. In addition, there are special funds for the Bundeswehr (25.5 billion euros), infrastructure and climate neutrality (58.9 billion euros), and the Klima- und Transformationsfonds (33.1 billion euros). To cover all expenditures, the federal government may take out new loans of up to 89.9 billion euros. The state can also assume guarantees and warranties totaling up to around 1 trillion euros, for example for exports, development assistance, or the domestic economy.
