Proposal summary
Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands jointly use an air traffic control center in Maastricht that controls airspace above 7,500 meters. Two technical annexes to this agreement are being updated, including the cost-sharing key between the participating states. Under the new calculation method, Germany will pay around 1 million euros less per year from 2026. The Federal Ministry of Transport may also implement future technical adjustments of this kind by ordinance without requiring a separate act each time.
