Recommendation for a resolution on rising track access charges

Proposal summary
When trains use Deutsche Bahn’s rail network, railway companies pay so-called track access charges. These fees were expected to rise sharply from 2026 because the Federal Government had previously injected fresh capital into DB InfraGO AG. A court decided that a specific statutory interest rate is decisive, and it is higher than the Federal Government’s actual return expectation. This law lowers the statutory interest rate so that track access charges rise less sharply.
