Proposal summary
The Bundestag is to establish an independent commission to examine how dependent Germany is economically on China and where this poses security risks. The commission is to assess which German companies, raw materials or technologies are particularly exposed and develop specific proposals on how to reduce these dependencies. This also includes Chinese investments in important German infrastructure and the use of technology from Chinese manufacturers in sensitive areas. The results are to be submitted to the Bundestag annually and can feed into new legislation.
