Proposal summary

Germany is to take a leadership role at the UN climate conference COP30 in Belém, Brazil. The Federal Government is to stop all rollbacks in climate policy, immediately prevent new fossil projects, and phase out climate-harming subsidies. For international climate finance, at least 6 billion euros are to be provided in 2025, with this amount gradually tripled by 2035. New funding sources are to be developed under the polluter-pays principle, for example a global tax on fossil fuel corporations and a levy on aviation and shipping.
