Proposal summary
Germany ratifies a trade agreement between the European Union and six countries in Southern Africa: Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, and Eswatini. The agreement gradually reduces tariffs and other trade barriers. The African countries may export to the EU permanently duty-free and quota-free, while in return they open their markets for around 74 to 85 percent of EU products. The aim is to facilitate trade and promote economic development in the region.
