Speed up housing construction and extend tenant protections

Many German cities lack affordable housing. This law is intended to make it easier and faster to build new residential buildings. Municipalities will have more leeway to approve construction projects, even if they do not exactly fit existing development plans. Existing protection rules for tenants in tight housing markets will also be extended by five years.
