Against climate and energy requirements in housing construction, tax relief for owner-occupiers

Official title: Motions for a resolution by the AfD-Fraktion

Proposal summary

The motion opposes mandatory energy and climate requirements in housing construction and calls for abolishing them to make building cheaper. Homebuyers should be able to deduct construction and financing costs from tax over 10 years; the Grunderwerbsteuer should be eliminated entirely for owner-occupied residential property. It also calls for abolishing the Grundsteuer and for KfW funding programs to focus more on affordable housing rather than climate-protection measures. Urban development funding programs such as Soziale Stadt are to be reviewed in terms of content and partly reduced.
