Proposal summary
The federal government sets up a new special fund of up to 500 billion euros to modernize Germany’s infrastructure and achieve the goal of climate neutrality by 2045. The money is intended for roads and rail, hospitals, schools, energy, digitalization, and research. The Länder will receive up to 100 billion euros for their own investments, and another 100 billion euros will go to the Climate and Transformation Fund.
