Haushaltsgesetz 2025

The federal government sets its budget for 2025 in a binding manner. Total revenue and expenditure amount to 503 billion euros. In addition, the Ministry of Finance may take out loans of up to 81.8 billion euros to cover expenditure. Separate special funds for defense, infrastructure, climate action, and reconstruction after the 2021 floods amount to a total of around 100 billion euros. Federal sureties and guarantees of up to around one trillion euros are possible, for example for exports, development assistance, and supporting the domestic economy.
