Proposal summary
People who are required to leave Germany should in future be able to be detained more quickly and for longer before they are deported. So-called exit custody is to be extended from the current 10 days to up to 6 months. In particular for convicted offenders and people classified as a security risk, the requirements for detention are to be lowered. In addition, more detention places, especially at major airports, are to be created.
