Amendment to Book Seven of the Social Code (Safety Representatives)

This law transposes an EU regulation into German law that creates special rules for the sale of gas appliances and personal protective equipment (PPE, e.g. helmets or protective gloves) in times of crisis. If the EU declares a so-called internal market emergency, for example because a crisis such as the COVID-19 pandemic disrupts supply chains, these products can be placed on the market more quickly, even without the usual testing procedure. Germany sets out which authorities are responsible, how information is reported, and what applies if manufacturers do not meet their obligations.
