Proposal summary
The federal budget for 2025 sets out how much money the federal government may take in and spend in 2025. The total amounts to around 503 billion euros. In addition, the federal government may take out loans of up to around 82 billion euros to finance spending. Alongside the main budget, there are several special funds, for example for the Bundeswehr (around 24 billion euros) and for infrastructure and climate action (around 74 billion euros combined). The law also sets the conditions under which the state may provide guarantees and shift spending flexibly between different areas.
